MIKE'S ICE ADVICE

It has just come to my attention that so called coaches are running what some are now calling I.D. skates. For all those coaches , please give the parents and kids a break and tell them the truth before you take their hard earned $$. I was told that coaches are now emailing parents about the time and of location of the skates and are asking for RSVP. Are you kidding me!!

You guys all know that you are taking advantage of nieve parents who have false aspirations of how good their kids are, and by you guys encouraging this narrative doesn’t end well in a lot of cases as to where the kids end up. Unfortunately, parents all want their kids to be in the AAA loop, and listen I was one of them, but when my kids got cut by the geniuses who coach these teams , not cuz of ability but for size I had to regroup.

I know what I did by taking them out of minor hockey was extreme, but it was needed to keep the kids from wondering “WHY NOT ME, WHY AM I GETTING CUT”. I can assure you that as a previous player, and coach at the highest levels these guys are just looking to line their pockets with $$ and may have as I previously stated 1-2 spots that need to be filled.

Here parents is something you need to figure out from when your kids are young!!” bullshit baffles brains”. If you figure this out then they are young then you will be experienced as to when and where I need to go, not when and where someone tells me I should go!!

The easiest thing for me to come on here and say it’s all BS, who are you to say it is all BS. Well , as a parent whose kids got screwed by the Minor Hockey system, and overcame the adversity they faced leading to a college education, and life experiences no amount of $$ can buy, and finally to have them play in the NHL I think I’m allowed to have an opinion on the $$ hungry coaches in the Minor Hockey loop
